Most of the following articles were written for New Dawn magazine during the course of 2014 and are the beginning of a series that will be continued through 2015. They cover a wide range of topics, such as; key discoveries within the new science, the supernatural, astro-theology, the onsetting new epoch, the human aura, unseen Ancient Egypt and life after death. Although seemingly different subjects or disparate fields of knowledge, each article is written around certain principles of natural law and esoteric understanding that show how all of them–like the separate spokes on a wheel or strands of a web–lead at core to a deeper, holistic concept of the significance of human life and its relationship to a living and dynamic universe.
     Each article also contains numerous references to other researchers, authors and original, independent thinkers from history and contemporary times who have produced particularly useful and insightful work in these wide ranging subjects of study, that the reader may also find to be quality resources worth investigating. Science rediscovers the Web of Life

Waiting in a queue at the supermarket recently, I was struck by the cover of the May edition of  ‘New Scientist’ magazine, boldly proclaiming, “Dark Energy–it is two-thirds of everything and we have no idea what it is”.
     “So what?” you might say. Well imagine going to see your accountant and he looks at you awkwardly and declares that he has just discovered he only understands one third of his profession. I don’t know about you, but I would certainly ask for a ‘two-thirds’ refund on the last invoice I had paid him!
     This bizarre situation began with a series of calculations in the late nineties to determine exactly how much matter and energy the Universe is composed of.
     It turns out that the atoms thought to be the fundamental building blocks of the Universe make up only about 5% of it all ... oops... that can’t be good! You can imagine the frantic scribbling of pencils and clacking of calculators until–“Ah, here you go– that means that the other 95% of the Universe and everything that exists must be made up of something we haven’t been able to see or detect ... b*gger!
     Well in the meantime, until we do have the chance to discover what this stuff is and rewrite the last 300 years worth of Physics text books we can call it ‘Dark Matter’, which we reckon is 20% of this ‘stuff’ and ‘Dark Energy’ which will be the other 75%–leaving a grand total of 5% that we do know
something about”...

Getting a grip on the supernatural

She looked at me as if trying to make death rays shoot out of her eyes. “Vampires are real!” she hissed, “Haven’t you seen Twilight?”
     In a flash I realised the futility of debating such things with an eleven year old and stopped myself from launching into a ‘Dad monologue’ about the Persians being one of the first civilizations to have tales of blood-drinking demons.
     “Yes of course” I mused, “My daughter is a member of the generation brought up on Harry Potter, Twilight, The Wizards of Waverly Place and a host of other supposedly ‘Supernatural & Paranormal’ themed movies, books and television programmes. To her all of this seems perfectly normal–mundane even!
     Over the last two decades it has all become very much a standard part of the  entertainment industry, annually generating  millions of dollars. Fear and excitement sells.
It was different in my day. The mere mention of the Supernatural or Paranormal caused feelings of trepidation and images of Ouija boards, Séances, ghosts, poltergeists, spontaneous combustion, and movies such as the Exorcist–which believe it or not was rated R20 when it was first released here in New Zealand in the early 70’s.
     At her age the closest I ever came to such an experience was when my best friend’s brother was chased down the motorway in his car by members of a local motorcycle gang, who shot at him through the window with a sawn off shotgun.
     I thought that was terrifying enough, but when my friend drew me in close and whispered, “It was all because Shane had been fooling around with a Ouija board!”, I felt a cold chill run down my spine!...
The analogy of the 12 human astrological types being the ‘fruit’ of the tree of life–which is also described in both the ancient Arabic and Kabbalist systems–is part of a deeper and lost understanding of the original meaning of human existence.

Panic began to overwhelm Hypatia with the sudden realisation that she was now completely surrounded. Her chariot was quickly stopped by the frenzied mob baying for her blood as it began to crush in against her. It seemed a strange thing to pass through ones mind in your final moments she thought, but her fathers most poignant words suddenly came back to her,  “All formal dogmatic religions are fallacious and must never be accepted by self-respecting persons as final. Reserve your right to think, for even to think and be wrong is better than not to think at all.”
     With ironic tragedy here it was, the murderous manifestation of the darkest side of human nature. Unthinking, unreasoned, and swept up in blind, base emotion–made all the worse having  been deliberately incited by a man of authority and learning–a Bishop none the less!
     Hypatia was unceremoniously torn from her chariot by the wild mob of screaming Christians. They stripped her naked, and dragged her to their church, where she was then murdered on the instructions of Peter the reader, who commanded the fanatics to rip her flesh from her bones with pottery shards and their fingernails. Her limbs were then thrown into a fire, whilst the chanting and laughter of the mob rang out with the words, “Paul tells us that women should be silent, now this one obeys!”
The natural, intuitive way of looking at the world has mostly been lost now, due to the fact that our technologically based way of living removes us from any direct connection to the cycles and processes of Nature.

A new era brings fresh waters of Life

Clearly the world didn’t end on December the 21st, 2012 in an epic ‘Hollywood style’ global cataclysm. However that man in central China who spent his entire life savings building a three story ‘Ark’ to save his family from the coming Tsunami is probably carefully avoiding his wife and hoping that it is just a wee bit late!
     Of course from an Astrological perspective these great changes in influence between the end of one World Era and the beginning of another don’t quite work like that do they?–as in the change over between the outgoing and incoming tides–there is always a period of ‘slack tide’ before the steady march of the new incoming tide proceeds.
     From this standpoint, there is indeed a ‘Tsunami’ of profound and significant change taking place in the world.
It is rapidly eroding and washing away the long established dominant world view–driven by an in pouring of ‘cosmic’ influence and new energy, rather than the dense, H20 variety!
     Although it may seem hard to believe, those thousands of books, articles, movies, documentaries, websites, blogs and talk shows produced leading up to the supposed ‘fateful date’ of December 21st, 2012, were all spawned from just two primary sources. The first being a section of Hieroglyph carved into a wall in Temple XIX at Palenque, Mexico and the second being an illustration on the last page of the ‘Dresden Codex’–one of only two original Mayan books left in existence
In our current times we live in a constant state of being bombarded and penetrated with the interference of an enormous range of electromagnetic and radionic pollution.

Energy storage unit, electromagnetic filter, auxiliary intelligence, memory pod, defense mechanism, transmitting/receiving station, and spiritual sanctuary–your aura is all of these and more!
Change is happening in the world at an alarming pace with new influences and potentials manifesting themselves that can’t be understood by the established modes of thinking and calculating of the past. They may have been perfectly adequate for the last few centuries, but new epochs require new ways and methods of perceiving and understanding.

Early this year the astrological community were ablaze with musings about the ominous portent of the Uranus-Pluto square occurring in April 2014. Especially because it occurred in the midst of a Grand Cross involving Mars and Jupiter, all in cardinal signs. Many of them were expecting the worst, some of the comments bordering on mass hysteria.  Would the stock market crash like it did in 1929?  Would civil order be swept away by major revolutions? Would the US suffer another major terrorist attack? More mass killings in schools, theatres, and at sporting events?  Would World War 3 begin?  etc.
      Of course since Dec 21, 2012, and a string of other such ‘cosmic’ predictions over the last decade, we are probably all a little wary of taking such news too literally.
     However with the in depth and thorough ‘pioneering’ work of Professor Richard Tarnas and others involved in the rapidly emerging new integral science and consciousness research, there are indeed some very definite patterns of ‘Cosmic’ influence going on behind the scenes of world affairs that confirm the world is not only in the midst of a major transition in human/cultural evolution, but that this ‘big change’ is intrinsically linked to the development and purpose of the Cosmos itself.
Essentially the Ray of Creation takes the position that the whole of the universe, its mysterious cause, it’s energies, powers laws, and matter are all one singular, integrated, multi-leveled, functional whole.

They say our Solar system originated about 4.6 billion years ago as a rotating cloud of gas and dust. Gravity caused the cloud to contract, and it’s central region became denser and hotter, eventually evolving into the Sun. In the spinning disc (known as a protoplanetary disc) the gas and dust gradually coalesced to form small bodies called planetesimals.
     These collided together many times, forming the planets we see today... really? What always bothers me about these bold, sweeping, authoritative statements is that they are seldom preceded with the phrase “some people believe”, or “It is currently hypothesized”–which then implies that these are established facts rather than just current ‘theories’.
     Mind you, in order to fill in the rest of the detail of how all that gas, dust, gravity and heat eventually produced a complex and finely tuned living system such as Planet Earth, positioned at a distance from the Sun that is ‘just right’ for organic life with stable living conditions. Or that such things as plant life would develop that were capable of processes that could convert the suns energy into ‘food’ for the rest of the pyramid of organic life, whilst producing vital oxygen as a ‘by product’ for us to breathe–relies upon ‘believing’ a whole chain of current ‘hypotheses’ and ‘theories’ to explain it all!
The more Scwhaller and his small team unravelled the knowledge encoded into the Temple the stronger grew his conviction that the Egyptians had a radically different consciousness from our own. They viewed the world symbolically, seeing in nature a ‘writing’ conveying truths about the metaphysical forces behind creation, the ‘Neters’, as the Egyptians called them.

If you were to listen to architects talking today, apart from the conversations centered around the many technical aspects of their trade, you would hear much emphasis being put upon new materials, construction techniques and methods that save time and money–economics and profit being the overriding principles of all building and construction work these days.
     You may even hear the odd few talking about producing buildings that are less toxic to human life, but you would certainly never hear them talking about designing a building that functioned as an interactive gateway between the human and the causing intelligence of life itself.
     Or a building that functioned as a living book of sacred knowledge explaining the origins, meaning and ultimate destiny of the human. Where the temple with it's alignment, volumes, proportions, and symbols were the teaching. A resonating material encompassment of universal, timeless wisdom.
     Hence when looking at the deeper meaning embodied in the architecture and symbols of the Ancients the most vital thing of all to appreciate, is that they thought in a completely different way than we do today. They had a value system and world view, that in many ways was entirely ‘upside down’ to our own–what R.A. Schwaller shows so clearly in his revolutionary study of the Temple of Luxor as the ‘Pharaonic Mentality’ and what transpires to be the most vital key to unlocking the real mysteries of Ancient Egypt, which is; “To understand Egypt, one must to learn to think like an Egyptian”.
At the human/unseen worlds level, these laws aren’t as readily obvious or as instantly fatal as the effect of gravity upon you if your parachute fails to open. No they are infinitely more subtle but just as fatal over the long term, if not understood and used correctly. This is in fact one of the key reasons why the ancient symbol of the enneagram was brought into existence in the first place, to function as a symbol or diagram that could explain all the fundamental laws and working principles of the universe and the human system. Hence the enneagram is the visual representation of an ancient knowledge of everything rather than just a ‘theory’ of everything.

Stephen Hawkings claimed 30 years ago that not only would physicists soon find a theory of everything, but that it would happen by the year 2000. Hawking argued that the unification of quantum mechanics and general relativity into one theory was inevitable and that the coming age of computers would render physicists obsolete.
     Don’t worry if you missed the announcement of this momentous discovery in 2000, because it never happened. In fact it all got so messy with things like dark matter, most of the universe being ‘unaccounted for’ and the emergence of things like multiple universe theory, string theory and a whole host of other weird and wonderful untestable ideas, that by 2010 Hawkings had to state that physicists may never find a theory of everything.
     Instead he proposed that a “family of interconnected theories” might emerge, each describing a certain reality under specific conditions. Which in plain speak means “Reality is whatever you believe it is maaaan!” My hippy art teacher never qualified for being the worlds ‘smartest man’ but he did actually suggest that idea to me way back in the late seventies.
     The problem is that the ‘new’ mechanistic science crystallised during  the industrial revolution had concluded that the universe was simply a giant matter/energy machine without a ‘soul’ or any kind of purpose or meaning and that the whole thing could be easily explained by a set of fundamental mechanical laws.
Of course if the universe was just a lifeless mechanical machine, then that is a reasonable thing to assume, but because it is not, explaining it by a purely mechanical model is like trying to explain your mother’s kind and caring nature by talking about how her skeletal system works!
All living systems have some kind of organisational structure and operational hierarchy. For example your feet don’t make the decision of where you are going to walk, you make that decision and your brain–via the nervous system–sends out the ‘order’ for the muscles and skeleton to put that intention into action. Hence the fact is that hierarchies, or levels of functional process, are an intrinsic part of life. It is exactly the same for something as seemingly nebulous as the Earth’s Astral Light.

One evening in London I attended a concert of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. Seating myself, I exchanged some words with my companion, and took pleasure in glancing around at the marvellous Royal Festival Hall as it began to fill up. It was only as the players came out and took their bow, and as they tuned up, that I dimly began to feel it. Something very different and unique was lurking about. It could not be seen or heard, but I could feel its presence, and it seemed to be approaching!
     And then, as the players prepared to begin and as the audience hushed, this unknown something saturated the air with a crackling, pregnant potential of which none other seemed to be aware. Then, literally from the first note, the timeless moment was upon me.
     Yet I was already far beyond the ability to reflect consciously upon it, for the experience was totally engulfing and all encompassing. It left no scope whatever for any other mental activity other than to be the perceptions to which my mind now seemed to have been opened. My body seemed to come alive with light; my heart was a fire which flared forth to consume the dross of my soul. My perceptions were opened as though they had always before been firmly closed.
     This extraordinary experience is related by David Tame in the introduction to his book “The Secret power of Music”. It was this profound and spontaneous experience that altered the course of his life and caused him to devote the rest of it to the study and understanding of the true occult causes of music.
There has never been the opportunity in world history before to have virtually all of the world’s information ‘on line’ and accessible, which means we are finally getting the chance to have access to the ‘full picture’, not the distorted and manipulated reality we have been inveigled with for centuries.These are interesting times indeed, as new possibilities begin to emerge out of the breakup and dissolution of the old. The Elite of Rome never saw the end coming either. The laws of life are the laws of life and were set in motion with the beginning of the Universe. No human will ever be powerful enough to negate them for very long.

With  the dawn of last century (1900) the American economy was booming. It’s industrial cities, bustling ports, rich farms, and world class Universities were the envy of the modern world. It’s population (now around 80 million) were upwardly mobile and highly literate. The Middle Class is flourishing as European immigrants clamour to get in. In this rapidly developing “land of opportunity” there were no Federal Income Taxes, State Income Taxes, or Central Bank and very little debt due to a sound currency backed by Gold and Silver.
     Today,  although official US government figures claim the unemployment rate is 5.5%, figures released by the Bureau of Labour Statistics show that 20 percent of American families do not have a single person that is working. The number getting money or benefits each month exceeds the number of full-time workers in the private sector by more than 60 million, meaning that more than 41 percent of all working age Americans do not have a job.
     As of March 12, 2015 the US Treasury reported federal debt is at $18 trillion, which is above the statutory debt limit and more than the country’s entire GDP.
     Of course one can’t help but wonder how something so great become something so disastrous and dangerous. Well you may have heard that old saying, “In this world nothing is certain, except death and taxes!” for it is a fundamental of natural law that everything born will eventually decay and die, whether that be a skin cell, a flower, a dog, or a person. It is no different for a Nation.
Hence this is perhaps the greatest ‘secret’ of great and powerful minds. Somehow they all discovered this deep truth that the material world is not the ultimate world. That there are a set of fundamental, unseen universal powers at work behind all things. So the most vital element in building power of the mind is to direct it’s focus into the unseen causing power realms of life rather than the manifest end results. The most direct way to do this is to undertake a direct study of these natural universal laws for oneself.

Power of the Mind - a practical guide

Pianolas were self-playing pianos driven by a pre-punched paper roll that became very popular in the late 19th Century. People discovered by accident, and to their great amazement, that some of Bach’s music was so geometrically intricate that it would still sound great even when the paper rolls containing the notes were fed into the pianola and run upside down!
     Beethoven is reported to have said, “If anyone could truly understand my nine symphonies they would then understand the workings of the Universe.” He also passionately believed that what caused his music was a universal force that could instigate a spiritual evolution of society.
    As in the teachings of Pythagoras, the works of Shakespeare, the art of Michelangelo and many other examples, generation after generation re discover the universal truths hidden inside these great works. They have a rare and immortal quality to them that people are able to draw spiritual nourishment from despite the shallow trends and fashions of the day.
     What is it then, that gives certain people the illuminated and original kind of mind that has the power to influence the world in such a potent way and even continue doing so many centuries after their passing?  
     Such is the tremendous power and influence upon us of the mass mind of our times, exacerbated by the insidious and invasive forces of advertising and political propaganda, that building a stronger and more powerful mind is becoming a vital requirement to even have a “mind of your own” these days.
