References & ongoing knowledge sources
Never before in the entire history of the world has there been so much information and knowledge available. Much of it of course, comes from existing world libraries, private collections and various commercial data bases, that due to the internet have now become easily accessable to millions.
However there is a greater phenomenon appearing within this ever increasing mass of readily accessable world knowledge which is twofold; a) Brand new perceptions and understanding about the true nature of reality are appearing as this new facility for the detailed comparison of the many different branches of historical, contemporary and ancient knowledge reveal the mutual underlying threads and principles that they all have in common. This in turn is fostering the emergence of a new integral, unified world view, born out of this unprecedented capacity of being able to at long last, bring all of the pieces of the 'puzzle of life' together. b) The appearance of entirely new knowledge and understandings about human life, the universe and the deeper relationship between them that has not been previously recognised or understood before. Just as an 'advanced' Lego set contains many more pieces and 'sub assemblies' to put together than a junior set, the new possibilities emerging for human mental and spiritual progress as we proceed into this new phase of universal and human evolution require a much greater range, scope and depth of knowledge to develop an overview of what is important to know. This will increasingly become an imperative in order to understand and successfully integrate with the cascade of change now effecting every single facet of our lives.. |
The following knowledge source recommendations are by no means definitive and are simply some of the sources that I have found particularly useful and inspiring. They are all sources that are well designed, clearly communicated and have been created by people who somehow–by luck, natural inclination or destiny–manged to 'hit the nail on the head' and therefore may well save a person from wading through hundreds of other sources on the subject. Although I might not agree with all the conclusions of these brilliant researchers, I am in complete accord with their spirit of 'Exploring the road less traveled' - after all it is the road 'well traveled' that has brought us to the state the world is in today. Clearly the human race needs alternative knowledge, different views and the real truth of what life is all about. After all, if one has dug a hole in the wrong place, digging it deeper and faster won't solve the problem–it just makes an even bigger mess.

NB: although I might not agree with all of Mr Wilcock or Mr Icke's conclusions when they join their'dots' together, the range and scope of the 'dots' presented are indeed crucial to understand why the world is the way it is. The main thrust of what both are attempting to do is 'wake' people up to the fact that as humans we have been led to believe in and respond to a false reality. That the truth of the full potential of what we really are and why we are here has been kept from us. Therefore one of the most useful consequences of absorbing such summaries of the current "all and everything" is how do you think about it all? what system or framework can one use
to sort out the 'wheat from the chaff'?

Art & Imagination Series - Various
Originally published in the early 1980's and edited by Jill Purce, who is married to Rupert Sheldrake (they must have had great conversations over the dinner table!) the 30 titles in this series form an invaluable introductory library to the key teachings of many of the worlds sacred traditions. Richly illustrated with diagrams and photographs taking up at least 2/3rds of each book, this series is one of the first attempts to bring together the great wisdom of the ages for a new generation and a new era. Well written, skillfully designed, remarkably clear and lucid for such 'obscure' subjects.

A Beginner's Guide to Constructing the Universe

If my house was on fire and I could only grab one book it would be this one (and the wedding photo album of course darling!) Michael has done a truly amazing job of collecting examples from literature, design, art, geometry, nature, mythology and ancient traditions of their knowledge and application of the 12 fundamental principles of universal and natural law. Full of practical examples and excercises, this is an excellent source book to discover for oneself the hidden laws, order and intelligence behind the endless manifestations of the material worlds.

What the bleep do we know? - VariousThere are many who say they their search for truth began as a result of not being able to accept the official story of 9/11. There is also another wave of people who began questioning the true nature of reality after seeing this movie. The story of how the movie and it's content came together in the first place is a remarkable example of a deeper reality wanting to find it's way into the human race's consciousness. The phenomenal success it had with audiences all over the world showed that the time was right for the 'mystical' truth revealed by quantum physics to have a greater influence in peoples lives. This 'book' version is an excellent encapsulation and extension upon the movies core themes and content.

The Field, the quest for the secret force of the Universe - Lynne McTaggartAs an investigative journalist Lynne McTaggart discovered while researching scientific papers on alternative healing methods, that there were numerous scientists and medical people discovering the most ‘miraculous’ things–using standard scientific methods –that totally contradicted the view that all of life’s phenomena are materially based. Virtually none of these ‘pioneers’ knew of each other because they worked ‘in secret’ knowing full well that to openly reveal their findings would result in ‘professional suicide!’
‘The Field’ is a scientific detective story that presents a stunning and deeply hope filled picture of an interconnected universe and an emerging new scientific theory that makes sense of supernatural phenomena. |
The Tao of Physics - Fritjof Capara

The Intelligent Universe - Sir Fred HoyleA well known and popular astronomer, Fred Hoyle was one of the first scientists to openly and publicly question the established mainstream 'truth' of the theory of evolution and the origins of life on earth. A bit of a maverick and not afraid of controversy Hoyle puts together a very well reasoned and science based argument against the accepted theories and also exposes some of the deliberate omissions of important information and discoveries that were perpetrated to keep bogus mainstream ideas and inflated egos afloat. Although first published in the early 1980's this book is not only still relevant in terms of it's key arguments but is also a real gem in it's creative design and brilliant illustrations.

A new science of life - Rupert SheldrakeAs a young man at college, Sheldrake recalled seeing an entire blackboard filled up with all the complex chemical equations required to digest and apple. Above the board some wag had written "Know thyself". Although a successful biologist in his own right, it was impressions like this that seeded in him the urge to delve much deeper into the numerous ancient philosophical and wisdom traditions of the past to see if there were valid ideas that explained the phenomena of life in terms that went beyond the 'matter as primacy' view that the western world had adopted since Descarte.
The resultant concept of 'Morphic fields' is an explanation that not only makes more sense, but also resonates strongly with the sacred science of past high civilisations. |
The God of Logic - Michael S. KingDid you know that you cannot be eligible for the U.S. presidency unless you openly admit to believing in Neo Darwinist evolution? or that Karl Marx and the Communists played a crucial part in making Darwin's ideas popular because it suited their ideological agenda?
Mr King takes Darwin's theory apart, not with science but with classic logic, showing that the gaping holes in Darwin's reasoning are so vast it does make one wonder how Darwinism could have ever been touted as the 'pinnacle' of human reasoning ability and pure logic. Unless of course it was a deliberate propaganda campaign... |
Cosmos and Psyche - Richard TarnasProfessor Tarnas explains that his earlier, highly acclaimed work "The Passion of the Western Mind" was a preparation for this book. From masses of historical data he shows that although much of Western astrological tradition can not be substantiated the influence of the planetary transits can be.
What emerges are clearly discernible patterns between the aspects of the outer planets and major transitional events in the course of human history, such as the discovery of the Heliocentric solar system, the birth of the Renaissance, the French Revolution, and the Great Depression to name a few. This well researched work shows that not only has the course of human history been strongly influenced by the Cosmos via these transits, but that we are also going through a series of major transitional influences in this very time in which we live. |
Cosmos - Ervin Lazlo & Jude Currivan
This is an excellent introduction to and summary of the new kind of view of the world beginning to appear and take shape - to quote,
"We are beginning to see the entire universe as a holographically interlinked network of energy and information, organically whole and self-referential at all scales of its existence. We, and all things in the universe, are nonlocally connected with each other and with all other things in ways that are unfettered by the hitherto known limitations of space and time...our existence has meaning and a human, planetary and even a cosmic purpose...our human mission is to facilitate and empower the dynamic journey of exploration and evolution of the universe." |

Meetings with Remarkable Men - G.I.Gurdjieff
|
The Teachings of G.I.Gurdjieff - P.D.OuspenskyIn my opinion these are the two most important books of the 20th Century. In Search of the Miraculous is both the story of P. D. Ouspensky's experience as a student of G. I. Gurdjieff as well as an outline of the teaching of his system. The Fourth Way is made up from transcripts of question and answer sessions between Ouspensky and his students.
When taken up and applied as originally taught, with the mutual support of others in a 'group', the work produces truly incredible results with a definite increase in ones consciousness, vitality, will and a deeply profound understanding of the workings of creation and the human system. The work is based entirely in the esoteric understanding of universal law, particularly the law of 3 and the law of 7, because everything in the manifested Universe is constructed as a result of the working interaction between these two great laws. The laws themselves can be found at the heart of the human system as well, giving a direct key way into development through the reality of the maxim "As above so below". Much nonsense has been written about Gurdjieff over the years from an intellectual standpoint which completely misses the point as this human development work is of a practical method, therefore it needs to be done to get results, and the results, if one is successful, certainly validate the teaching and hence the teacher. Gurdjieff himself explained that the system was made up of only fragments of a much greater teaching created by 'conscious' men. As he said "If they were ordinary ideas created by ordinary men there would be no point in studying them." |
